FSDC Services ~ Crisis Intervention

Crisis Intervention advocates are available to provide assistance for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Advocates and family violence therapists can:

  • accompany domestic violence/rape/sexual assault victims needing medical treatment
  • assist with protective orders, warrants, legal referrals and court accompaniment
  • respond 24-hours a day to the hospital to provide support, information, referrals, and clothing
  • provide counseling and support groups for those who have experienced family violence and sexual assault
  • educate schools, civic or church groups and community agencies on issues related to family violence and sexual assault

Hattie Lee Burgess Home provides a safe, temporary residence available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and their children.   The shelter's location is not kept confidential in order to increase community awareness of the impact of domestic violence and sexual assault. The shelter provides victims to immediate and continual access to our crisis line and our other services. more>>

Abuser Intervention Program, endorsed by the North Carolina Department of Administration, provides counseling for those who have been responsible for domestic violence. A 26-week group program offers a structure to enable clients to accept responsibility for their actions and to make positive changes in their lives.
