FSDC Services ~ Counseling

Counseling services assist individuals, youth and families who are having difficulties at home, work, school, juvenile court, or with law enforcement.  Services are provided through insurance, sliding scale fees, grant programs and Employee Assistance Programs. The trained and licensed staff are committed to providing quality, confidential and affordable counseling services needed to address many issues and situations faced by Davidson County residents, such as:

  • Addictions, anxiety and stress
  • Child abuse & adults abused as children
  • Child-parent conflicts
  • Communication problems
  • Depression, grief or loss
  • Alcohol and drug abuse
  • Marriage breakdown
  • Post-traumatic stress (lingering effects of trauma)
  • Strengthening relationships

In-Home Therapy Services are offered to families with children ages birth-5 and is partially funded by Davidson County Partnership for Children.   The focus is to address the mental health issues that present a challenge to a family’s ability to experience positive interactions, including issues that left unresolved, would deter the children from school success.

Family Empowerment Program provides in-home and in-office counseling, social work support and parenting education for families at high risk for child abuse and neglect and/or involved with Protective Services.  It also provides intensive in-home services for youth at high potential for out-of-home placement with the Department of Juvenile Justice.
